smoky chiaroscuro of ancient timber lanes as the city woke around them. Every frame from this day is honest, atmospheric, and entirely theirs.

Chelsea and Riggs started their April morning at 5am with Mount Fuji turning deep red in the first light, and the day only got more cinematic from there. A white horse beneath a blooming sakura tree, tearful vows under the cherry blossoms on the North Shore of Lake Kawaguchiko, and the ropeway summit views to close it out. After having to unplan our elaborate overseas wedding in 2020 due to travel restrictions, we felt quite lost as to what our next wedding plans would be or look like. After reading through the Who Shot The Photographer website we realised that an elopement would be a beautiful way for us to officiate and honour our relationship in a way that is truly “us”.
We contacted James while still undecided on any details and James was incredibly helpful with the planning, he even offered vendor and location recommendations after getting to know us and our styles. The organising of the elopement was stress-free and we felt fully supported in all of our decisions – including one decision to postpone the wedding by a couple of months!
