Gibraltar Falls Couples Session | Jodie and Tristan

Exploring Gibraltar Falls with Jodie and Tristan for their couples photos session back a few months ago was a hell of a lot of fun. What’s more, it came as a bit of a surprise to Josie when Tristan proposed in the session!

Let’s rewind a little bit first, though. Jodie and Tristan wanted to have an authentic and real experience for themselves which captured who they were.

When it came to choosing a location for their adventure portrait session, the two common themes which came up were forests and views. With a little bit of a spin on it, Gibraltar Falls, based just inside the Namadgi National Park, was the perfect location for this stunning engagement session.

If you’ve ever been to Gibraltar Falls, you’ll know that it is renown for it’s stunning and extensive views, multiple watering holes, and easy accessibility. I felt this painted the perfect setting for Josie and Tristan’s couples photos session.

So many of the couples I work with have such a unique connection. I find it absolutely heartwarming when you can tell there are a lot of in-jokes between two people. That is, after all, such a big part of a unique connection between two people. Josie and Tristan have this incredible bond, and even more so because of the warmth, they have to one another. Also on this cold day at the top of Gibraltar Falls.

One of the most significant parts of the session as a whole was the fact that Tristan proposed to Josie right at the very end!

Proposing to your loved one on an adventure portrait session is something that happens quite a bit, and there’s a reason for it. The sessions I create are designed to help you both connect and reflect on how far you’ve come and what you’ve done together. It’s about having an adventure and celebrating what you’re both about. The truth is that so many couples love to propose because it creates such a fun, exciting and tender atmosphere.

Tristan rang me a couple of days before our session and let me know that he wanted to pop the big question, so we came up with a little bit of a plan so that he’d know when the best time may be.

Of course, it went flawlessly, and Josie said YES! One of the best ways to end a session.

Josie and Tristan ended up investing in a gorgeous timber storyboard piece for their home, showcasing the whole day with the waterfall image below of them kissing as the main piece.
