The truth is
you don’t have to compromise on your dream wedding.

Having a ‘just us’ experience to start your marriage is what really matters.

You’ve been through so much together. Found each other through time and space, and now you want to commit to each other for the rest of your lives.

Let’s do it right. Let’s create something that will make you look back in 20 years and say “That was a day which was SO us”.

limitless choice in how you can get married.

You have the choice in how you would love to start your marriage. Maybe it involves:

  • Swimming with dolphins in the morning in a tropical paradise, and then hiking up a secluded mountain for vows at sunset
  • A sunrise ceremony in the snowy mountains with hot wine, followed by exploring a frozen lake and then snowboarding in the afternoon
  • Exploring hidden waterfalls and having a private dip, before writing your vows to each other and getting married under a huge tree in the forest

does this all sound a bit like how you envision getting married?

Well then you’re in the right place, friend.

“made the whole day so easy & fun”

Wow. What a guy. The most down to earth, genuine guy who made the whole day so easy & fun.
James helped me and my now wife get Eloped in Kyoto Japan. The amount of time and effort he took to ensure this was all possible we can’t appreciate enough. Thank you so much mate, truly had an absolute blast ❤️ You will always hold a special place in our hearts with what you did xx

    “instantly put us at ease”

After having to unplan our elaborate overseas wedding in 2020 due to travel restrictions, we felt quite lost as to what our next wedding plans would be or look like. After reading through the Who Shot The Photographer website we realised that an elopement would be a beautiful way for us to officiate and honour our relationship in a way that is truly “us”.

We contacted James while still undecided on any details and James was incredibly helpful with the planning, he even offered vendor and location recommendations after getting to know us and our styles. The organising of the elopement was stress-free and we felt fully supported in all of our decisions – including one decision to postpone the wedding by a couple of months!

On the day of our elopement the first thing we noticed about James was his genuine and authentic energy, which instantly put us all at ease. He prompted us and our guests/witnesses with light-hearted questions about our day, relationship, and memories, which helped us all reconnect and remain present in the moment.

The weather didn’t quite hold out for us, and while we were umm-ing and ahh-ing about where to go next, James offered some ideas to guide us. He remained flexible the entire day which made us feel relaxed and we all just went with the flow.

The final photos perfectly captured our day, from the build up of anticipation, ecstatic smiles, to the chaotic wind, rain, and even a giggle behind a broken umbrella. James’ passion for his art reiterates that the memories and feelings from the day is what lives on, and the final photos capture all the feelings in a way that we couldn’t imagine with anyone else.

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for your professionalism, passion, and authenticity.
    – Damien N.

your questions answered by me.

Planning an international adventure naturally brings up a complex web of logistics. I am here to strip away the guesswork and ensure your experience remains entirely seamless, intentional, and grounded.

Yes – Australian law requires two witnesses to sign the marriage register. They can be
friends, family, or in some states, witnesses arranged by your celebrant. It’s easy to organise and doesn’t change the intimacy of your day at all.

Almost anywhere. National parks, beaches, private land (with permission), and most public spaces are fair game. Some locations require permits – James will help you navigate this as part of the planning process.

Absolutely. An elopement with a registered celebrant is a full legal marriage under Australian law. All the paperwork is the same as a traditional wedding – it’s just a different experience around it.

James works with a maximum of 30 couples per year, so popular dates (spring and autumn in particular) book out several months in advance. 3-6 months ahead is a safe starting point, but reach out sooner if you have a specific date or location in mind.

All of Australia – his travel costs are covered in the packages so there are no hidden fees for interstate travel. He is based in Canberra and travels regularly across NSW, QLD, VIC, TAS, WA, SA, and NT.
